FAQ

The model

What is a white-label physician network?

A white-label physician network supplies licensed clinicians and clinical operations to a company that offers care under its own brand. Caracola Medical provides physicians, clinical protocols and day-to-day clinical operations, and your patients see your brand. You run the business and the patient experience. We run the clinical side. Read more about the white-label telehealth model.

Do patients know Caracola is involved?

Patients interact with your brand. Required clinician disclosures are given as state law requires, so patients know who is treating them wherever the law calls for it. We'll walk through the disclosure requirements for your target states before launch.

Who makes clinical decisions?

Licensed clinicians do, always independently. Your team can shape the program, the brand and the patient experience, but no partner directs a diagnosis or a prescription. Independent clinical judgment is what keeps the program safe and defensible.

Do we need our own PC or medical group?

Usually not to get started. In the white-label model, clinical services are delivered under your brand through our physician-owned professional entity, so you don't need to form your own medical group to launch. Some companies choose to build their own entity later, and your counsel should confirm what fits your plans.

Why does a physician-owned clinical entity matter?

Many states limit who can own a medical practice or employ physicians, and a physician-owned clinical entity is built to work within those rules. It also keeps clinical authority with clinicians rather than with the business. See our glossary entry on corporate practice of medicine for background.

FAQ

Coverage

Which states do you cover?

Our physicians are licensed in all 50 states and Washington, DC. Tell us your target states and we'll confirm coverage for your program before launch.

Can you add states as we grow?

Yes. Tell us which states are next and we'll confirm licensing, coverage and any state-specific protocol changes before you open them to patients. Credentialing and state licensing support are part of our back-end support.

Do you provide physicians only, or NPs and PAs too?

Physicians only. Every clinician in our network is a licensed physician (MD or DO). If your own program uses nurse practitioners or physician assistants, we can provide collaborating or supervising physician oversight where state law requires it.

Can we offer care in Spanish?

Yes. Bilingual English and Spanish physician coverage is available. Our founder is fluent in Spanish, and we can build Spanish-language care into your program from the start.

FAQ

Clinical

Which service lines do you support?

We support a range of service lines, and we can build custom protocols for programs that don't fit a standard template. Current service lines include:

  • Tele-urgent care
  • Medical weight loss, including GLP-1 programs
  • Longevity and preventive health
  • Concierge medicine
  • Hormone therapy
  • Medical cannabis evaluations and certifications
  • Custom protocols

See our telehealth services for detail.

Do you do asynchronous visits?

Where state rules and the service line allow it, yes. Some states and treatments require a live visit, so the right mix of asynchronous and synchronous care depends on your program. We'll confirm the visit model for your states on the discovery call.

Can a patient see the same physician again?

Continuity matters, and we can discuss how to support it in your program. How it works depends on your states, service lines and scheduling setup, so we'll confirm the approach on the discovery call.

What is your turnaround target?

Turnaround targets are agreed per program. They depend on visit type, service lines, states and expected volume, and we set them together before launch rather than quoting a generic number.

How do you handle escalations and adverse events?

Every program has a defined escalation pathway: who gets notified, how cases are documented and when a patient is directed to in-person or emergency care. We have worked on platforms where escalations were split across email threads and nobody owned the outcome. We build the pathway into the protocols before launch so that does not happen.

Do your physicians prescribe controlled substances?

Only for hormone therapy, such as testosterone, and only when a licensed physician decides it is clinically appropriate after an individual evaluation and it is permitted by federal and state law, including DEA telehealth prescribing rules. We do not prescribe controlled substances for any other service line.

Do you offer good faith exams (GFEs)?

Yes. Our physicians provide good faith exams for med spas and aesthetics practices, by telehealth where state rules allow. Pricing depends on your volume and services, and we go over it on the discovery call. See our med spa telehealth page.

FAQ

Compliance

Are you HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. We run HIPAA-compliant workflows across intake, documentation and patient communication. Our compliance page explains our approach.

Will there be a BAA or other HIPAA agreement?

We put the HIPAA agreements the relationship requires in place before launch. Which agreements apply depends on how data flows between your company, your platform and our clinical team, and we map that during setup.

How do you handle state corporate-practice rules?

Clinical care is delivered through a physician-owned professional entity, not by your business, and business operations are provided by a separate management company. Our protocols are state-rule-aware. Corporate practice rules vary by state, so we review the structure for your target states, and we recommend you also get your own legal advice.

Who owns the chart?

Medical records have to be kept by the treating clinical entity in line with state and federal law. How records are stored, accessed and shared with your platform is set out in the written agreement. We'll confirm the specifics for your program on the discovery call.

FAQ

Pricing

How does pricing work?

Pricing is set per program. It depends on your service lines, states, visit types, expected volume and how much back-end support you need. We scope the program first and then send a quote.

Is there a minimum term?

Term length is agreed in the written agreement. We set it during scoping so it fits your program and launch plans.

What does a medical director cost?

It depends on scope: your states, service lines, the oversight state rules require and how involved you want the medical director to be. We quote after scoping. Learn more about our medical director services.

FAQ

Platform

Do you provide the technology?

We don't sell software. We work inside your existing telehealth platform or EHR, or we help you choose one and set it up. Our advice isn't tied to a product.

Can we work in our platform?

Yes. We work inside the platforms partners already use, and our clinicians follow your intake, documentation and messaging flows. If something in the clinician workflow creates risk, such as orders arriving with no intake, we'll flag it and help you fix it.

What if we don't have a platform yet?

Many partners come to us with a brand and no technology. We have worked inside most of the major telehealth platforms and EHRs, so we can tell you which ones fit your service lines, states and budget, and help you launch on one. We don't sell software, so our advice isn't tied to a product.

FAQ

Working together

How fast can we launch?

Typically in a matter of days. The exact timeline depends on your states, your service lines and whether you already have a platform, and we confirm it on the discovery call.

What happens on the discovery call?

We learn about your business, your target states, your service lines and your platform. We explain how white-label physician coverage would work for you and flag anything that needs attention early. You leave with clear next steps. Request a discovery call.

What do you need from us to start?

Your target states, the service lines you want to offer, your platform or EHR if you have one, and a picture of your intake and patient support flow. A rough sense of expected volume helps us scope. If some of that is still undecided, that's fine. We can work it out together.
